Delores J. Horsley departed this life on July 10, 2025, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She attended Campbell County Public Schools. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hoover, Sr. and Rosa Parker; her husband, Jessie Horsley; a devoted friend, Gerald Alston; two sisters, Peggy Tuck and Shirley Nyepan; and three brothers, Leroy, Hoover, Jr., and William Parker, Sr.

Delores' life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeded the quantity of time in which she lived. She was a woman of many words and all about getting straight to the point. No time for "Foolishness!" Her favorite saying was, "Who Does That?"

Delores leaves to cherish her memories her children: Stephen Parker and his children, Stephen Allen and Cheinara Qonner; Kina Parker and her son, Quincey Thompson; Renetta Campbell and children, Damien Horsley, Dominique and Darius Campbell; Andre Horsley and children, Kyundra Word, Ashley Campbell, Aliya Austin, Kayla Tayla Ford, and Le O'shea Brown; Tralane Horsley and children, Leam Coe and Darere'o Davis; DeShanna Horsley and children, Mia and Jaiden Haley; Tonya Horsley and children, Joshua and Sirvonte Horsley; Tecora Johnson and children, Makashia, Cashmir, Cashtin, Acer, and Lincoln Johnson; Mieshia Chambers and children, Dream and Myuna; Amonte Chambers, and Pamela Chambers; two brothers, Harold (Phyllis) Parker and Raymond (Diane) Parker; one sister-in-law, Joan (Robert) Giles; extended family, The Pantaze family, Mark Alston and Gerald Lee; and a host of other family and close friends.

A homegoing celebration will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Davis-Turner Funeral Service. Interment will be in the Parker Family Cemetery. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
