Deaconess Susie Herndon Megginson, 83, of Lynchburg passed away Thursday, October 19, 2006. She was born in Campbell County, June 5, 1923 to the late Fletcher and Daisy Herndon and was the wife of the late Randolph A. Megginson. Susie was also preceded in death by three sisters, Rosabell Herndon, Drucella Britton and Elnora Nash and brother, Smith G. Herndon. Survivors include three sons, Matthew T. Herndon (Mary), Harold G. Megginson, Maurice J. Megginson (fiancee`, Gaynelle); three daughters, Marie M. Andrews, Barbara M. Jefferson, Deborah M. Jones; one step-son, Boyd R. Megginson (Georgia); two sister-in-laws, Ellen M. Wheeler and Ethel Megginson; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren, and a host of other loving nieces, nephews, relatves and friends.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, October 22, 2006 at Mt. Evergreen Baptist Church, Evington, with Rev. Lorenzo Kitt officiating and Rev. Carlton Jackson as Eulogist. Interment will be in the Mt. Evergreen Church Cemetery. The family is receiving friends at 6012 Pleasant Valley Rd.
