Deaconess Mother Helen White, 86, of 409 Chambersville St., Lynchburg, passed away Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at Virginia Baptist Hospital. Helen was born May 3, 1923, to the late George and Minnie Grier. She was preceded in death by her husband, John G. White Sr., and her son, John G. White Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory, include one son, Larry (Wanda J.) White, of Forest; one daughter-in-law, Evelyn D. White, of Charlotte, N.C.; sister-in-law, Barbara Davis, of Madison Heights; five grandchildren, Bevley (Andre) Green, of Mobile, Ala., Farley Dickey, of Lynchburg, Alexis White, of Charlotte, N.C., Shaina White and Larry White Jr., both of Forest; three great-grandchildren, Khadijah Dickey, Zharinah Crews, both of Lynchburg, and Enzo White, of Charlotte, N.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, at Wingfield Baptist Church, with the Rev. Stacey Younger officiating and the Rev. Carl B. Hutcherson as eulogist. The interment will be in the Chambersville Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to
5 p.m., today, Jan. 17, 2010, prior to the funeral service and from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, 2010, and other times at the residence, where they can be reached at (434) 941-5091.
