Deaconess Gladys Ann Lee, 74, of Amherst, VA found peace for eternity in the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at the Virginia Baptist Hospital. Gladys was born on June 18, 1939 to Booker and Christine Essex.
Gladys leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 51 years, Charlie Lee; two sons, Jerome Lee of Amherst, VA and Gary Lee (Regina) of Madison Heights, VA; four grandchildren, Rita Brown, Charles Lee, Asia Lee and Sebastian Lee; four great-grandchildren, Trey Brown, Ke Ke Brown, Tater Jackson and Sharnell Jackson; two devoted sisters, Mary Johnson, of Pottstown, PA and Alice (Ray) Douglas, of Roseland, VA; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Essex, of Massie Mills, VA and a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held 2:30 PM Monday, July 22, 2013 at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, Amherst with Rev. Rodney Harris, officiating and Rev. Diggs, as Eulogist.
