Obituary

Deacon William Everett (Will) Yuille was born in Campbell County, Virginia on September 20, 1909 to the late Julius Luke Yuille and Elizabeth Frazier Yuille and was their last descendent .

William was a devout Christian and active member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church until his illness period. He held several positions in the church. He followed his father as Superintendent of the Sunday School, encouraging interest by conducting bible trivia sessions after lessons. Deacon Yuille served as Chairman of the Deacon Board, Treasurer of the church, Choir Director and Pianist. He was blessed with a melodious baritone voice and loved to sing solos with the choir and his family. It was always a pleasure to hear him at home as he played the organ, piano, and guitar.

Deacon Yuille was a strong believer in prayer and at family reunions, he was known to pray for 30 minutes or more around the dinner table. He faithfully practiced his Christian values with his family and was always available to assist neighbors and friends in need.

William believed in the importance of education, encouraged and worked diligently to support his children's aspirations using his blessing of multiple skills. He was a carpenter, machinist, electrician and plumber. He built a tractor from an old truck, fashioned a saw mill, and constructed many pieces of practical furniture. Deacon Yuille earned his living as a successful famer and retired as a school bus driver in the Campbell County Public School System.

Deacon Yuille was a lover of poetry and often recited poems from his school days until the age of 96. He had an innate sense of humor and told jokes and humorous stories. In his youth, he did bicycle tricks on his Harley Davison motorcycle for relaxation.

He was preceded in death by his beloved spouse, Helen Dabney Yuille of 58 years and his oldest daughter, Desiree Yuille. He is survived by 3 sons, Zenith (Anita) Yuille of Upper Marlboro, MD, Leon (Margaret) Yuille of Hampton, VA, and Steven Yuille of Roanoke, VA; six daughters, Dr. Dolores Johns of Roanoke, VA; Shirley James of Hyattsville, MD, Janice Scott and Vivian(Moses) David of Hampton, VA; Helen Thornton of Atlantic City, NJ and Laverne (Leonard) Bailey of Egg Harbor, NJ; 26 grandchildren, 40 great-children, and one great-great grandchild; 4 sisters-in-law: Bernice Epps, Dorothy Calloway, Edna Callaway and Beulah Dabney; 3 brothers-in-law: William Dabney , Edgar Dabney and Carroll Dabney and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
