On Monday, December 2, 2024, Dawuud Hakim (Lewis Alexander Washington, Jr.) took his rest in the comfort of Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center surrounded by family.

He was born on January 12, 1970, at Walter Reed Military Hospital in Washington, DC to Trudy Washington and the late Lewis Washington, Sr.

He is survived and remembered by his loving and devoted mother, Trudy Washington; his daughter, Sade' Washington; sons, Darico Alexander Washington, and Malik Evans. Also left to cherish his memories are his brothers, Lawrence Ford and Christopher Washington; sisters, Priscilla Ford and Lucinda Gooding; and grandchildren; Nailah Butt, Akari Washington, and Tea'Gyn Washington.

In addition to his father, Lewis Washington, Sr., he was preceded to rest by his brothers, Gregory Ford and Dennis (Sandy) Ford, and sister, Teresa Ford.

He enjoyed sports, especially football, "The Washington Commanders", his favorite team.
