DaVontae Antonio Word, 2 of Appomattox, Va. departed this life on Sunday March 21, 2010 at UVA Medical Center. God saw the pain was getting hard to bear and that the hills were hard to climb. In his mercy he said "Peace be thine, come on home to rest from your toil enter my joys.
Born on November 15, 2007 DaVontae was the son of Danetta Jones and Michael Word, Sr. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather William Jones Sr.
In addition to his mother and father, he leaves to cherish his memory his brothers, Michael Word Jr.and Juwan Irving both of Lynchburg, Va.; grandparents, Mable Jones of Appomattox, Va, Eula Word and John Pennix both of Lynchburg, Va; great grandmother, Margaret Trent of Appomattox; god mother, Lea Wilson of Appomattox, Va.; six aunts and five uncles and a very special cousin Devin Jones and Kyla Trent and a host of cousins and other relatives. A special thanks to his nurse Donna Conley and all other staff at UVA Medical Center.
A celebration of life will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Jordan Baptist Church, Appomattox with Rev. Dr. C.L Elliott officiating. The interment will be in the church cemetery.
