David Charles Johnson, 69, of Appomattox, VA departed this life Sunday, November 20, 2022, at his residence. Born October 13, 1953, to the late John P. and Mary P. Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter "Kenny" Johnson, and John "Wayne" Johnson; one son-in-law, Troy Tyrone Roberson, Sr.; one sister-in-law, Irene J. Booker; and one brother-in-law, Russell Booker.

David accepted Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Airy Baptist Church. David graduated from Appomattox County High School.  He played basketball. He was employed at Meredith/Burda, Waytec, and by Edward Moore. His most memorable job was the community "everything". Fixing cars, household appliances, and everything in between until his health declined from a stroke in 2013 and then cancer.

David leaves behind a loving, caring devoted wife, of 50 plus years, Noel B. Johnson; one devoted son, Cedric Booker; five beautiful and devoted daughters, Shunta Morgan (Duane), Tracy Booker-Roberson, Sharon Pannell (Lucas), Sheila Johnson, and LaNikka Johnson (Dallas); ten wonderful grandchildren, Bridgette, Tiarra, Marquise, TroMontez, Taniya, Mason, Lucas, Jr., Logan, Landon, and Charlie; two sisters-in-law, Connie Johnson and Rochelle Johnson; two brothers-in-law, Sylvester Booker (Bea) and Jerry Booker; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

A homegoing celebration will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Mt. Airy Baptist Church, 167 Coleman Mills Road, Gladstone, VA. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
