David Lee Archie, Sr., a cherished resident of Roanoke, VA, peacefully departed this life in his sleep at home on March 4, 2025. Born on March 23, 1969, in Lynchburg, VA, he was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend who accepted the Lord as his Savior at an early age at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church.

David was preceded in death by his loving parents, Delores P. Archie and James L. Archie; his son, David Lee Archie, Jr.; and his brothers, Otis, Henry, and Amos Johnson.

He is survived by his daughter, Akeya Cabell of Lynchburg, and sons, Tony Poe of Madison Heights, VA, and Elijah Harvey of Harrisonburg, VA. David took great pride in being a grandfather to Da'Vonta, Christian, Kayleigh Nicole Archie, Hasani, and Hasanna Jenkins.

David's legacy continues through his siblings: Reverend Dr. Floyd Archie, Sr. (Joyce) of Lynchburg, VA, Thomas Archie of Bedford, VA, Eugene Archie of Lynchburg, VA, Ricky Archie of Lynchburg, VA, James Archie (Kellie) of Norfolk, VA, Lorenza Archie, Sr. of Altavista, VA, Barbara Ann of Maryland, Willamina and Bo of Alexandria, VA, and Preston Archie (Sister) of South Carolina. He is also mourned by his aunts, Mary Johnson (Roger) of Lynchburg, Alice Waugh of Washington, DC, Annie Merriman (Garnett) of Lynchburg, VA, and Amy Waugh of Monroe, VA.

David leaves behind a loving partner, Lakisha Trussell; along with a special niece and goddaughter, Danielle Archie. He will be deeply missed by a vast network of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends. David's memory will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
