Dave Andrews, born on September 10, 1940, in Bedford County, peacefully departed this life on September 11, 2024, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the son of the late Mary M. Andrews and was also preceded in death by uncles, Price and Joseph Andrews.

He was a devoted member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church. Dave sung in the Young Adult Choir and volunteered as an usher and other supporting roles. He was a popular presence in the church and surrounding community and will be sorely missed.

Dave loved his family and would always support family activities and gatherings. His passion was classic automobiles and numerous pet dogs, including his faithful black Labs, Midnight and Jack, who would be constantly by his side. Like his uncles, Dave was also an accomplished gardener. He was educated in the Bedford County School System.

Dave leaves to mourn his passing a loving sister, Ollie Mason of Rustburg; three nephews, James Mason (Denise) of Stafford, David Mason (Jennifer) of Forest, and Wayne Mason (Dawn) of Rustburg. One niece, Diana Frazier (Alexander) of Charlottesville; great nieces, Jessica Townsend (Mikal) of North Carolina, Makayla Mason of Rustburg, and Brittany Frazier of Charlottesville; great nephews, David Mason, Jr. (Ebony) of North Carolina, Bryan Lillard (Emanuelle) of Rustburg, and Alexander Frazier, Jr. of Charlottesville; a beloved life partner, Brenda Watts; and a host of relatives and friends.

A homegoing celebration will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Lawyers Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Andrews will be on view from 9:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Davis-Turner Funeral Service. Interment will be in the Mount Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery.
