Obituary

Early Sunday, July 17, 2022, Damien Malek Waugh met the Angel of the Lord, he took him by the hand and lead him home to be with the Lord.

Damien was a graduate of Amherst County High School. He was employed by Frito-Lay. He was an avid football player and fan of the game. His favorite team was the Philadelphia Eagles. During his private time, Damien was a gym enthusiast, with a love for fishing and spending time with family and friends. He had a smile that was contagious and could brighten every room.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparent, Melvin V. Beverly, and paternal grandparents, Alberta R. Waugh, and George C. Spinner.

Damien leaves to cherish his loving memory his loving parents, Kimberly Beverly and Carl Slaughter and Leon (Evangeline) Waugh; one sister, Brianna Slaughter; three brothers, Rodney (Kristen) Gibson, Dwayne J. Gibson, Jr., and Abijah Slaughter; Grandparents, Jean Beverly, William Waugh, Jr., and Gloria Spinner; Aunts, Michelle (Jerome) Hubbard, Erica Roberson, Silisa Kyle (Edwin Lewis), Dwana (Troy) Thornton, Annelida (Kelvin) Carter, Georgette (Kenneth) Carter; uncles, William (Crystal) Waugh, III, Lewis (Sandy) Waugh, Cory (Donna) Roberson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Scott Zion Baptist Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
