Obituary

Cynthia Ann Smith Carrington Jackson, 63 of Rustburg, Va., peacefully slipped away to her eternal rest, Thursday, December 19, 2013 at her residence. Cynthia was born in Campbell County, January 9, 1950, to the late Eugene and Maxine Moorman Smith.

Cynthia was a faithful Jehovah's Witness and attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Altavista, Va., as often as she could. She was a former employee of Ericsson/General Electric where she worked for many years.
Cynthia was especially proud to help others, as she found herself doing with her duties as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Central Virginia Training Center where she retired from in 2012. Cynthia was preceded in death by her first husband, Leon Carrington. A loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend, although she may be gone from this world, she will never be forgotten.

Cynthia leaves a loving family to cherish her memories, her husband of 35 years Samuel Jackson and daughters, Tami P. Smith (Mahliek), Washington, DC, April Carrington, Nicole Carrington (Kevin Johnson), one son, Johnathan Carrington all of Rustburg, Va. Ten grandchildren, Mahliek, Serena, Jordan, Myia, Devin, Jasmine, Kayla, Kendall, Alisia and Jamarius, one great-grandchild, Shay'niayh. One sister, Shirley Brown (John) Fort Washington, MD., two brothers, Alfred and Malcolm Smith of Rustburg, VA., three uncles Paul Moorman, North Carolina and Thomas Wilson, Philadelphia, PA and George Wilson, South Carolina and one aunt Elaine Ramsey, Philadelphia, PA., and a host of other family and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held Sunday, December 22, 2013, 4:00pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Altavista, Va., Elder Edward Carr, presiding. The family will receive friends at the residence located 478 Patterson Road, Rustburg, Va. Services are entrusted to the care of Davis-Turner Funeral Home, Lynchburg, Va.
