IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Curtis Harris,
Sr.
March 14, 1954 – November 6, 2021
Curtis Leroy Harris, Sr. entered eternal rest on November 06, 2021, at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born March 14, 1954, in Lynchburg, VA, to the late Alfred Nathaniel Burks and Julia F. Harris. He leaves behind his ex-wife and longtime friend, Eleanor Jones Harris. His Father and Mother-in-Law, Melvin and Shirley Jones; two sister, Sharon Harris and Lorraine Wilson; and two brothers, Rodney Harris and the late Frank Harris who preceded him in death. Also left behind are his sister and brothers-in-law, Jennifer Glover, Carlotta Clark (Nathaniel), Sheila Strange; a loving cousin, Barbara Woodson; his close friends who were like brothers and sisters to him, George Woodson (Bertha), Jeff Wilkes (Leshan) Lawrence "Poochie" Harris and Joyce Brown.
He will forever be remembered as a devoted Father to his sons, Curtis Harris, Jr. (LaToya) and Christopher Harris (girlfriend, Niyah); a proud Grandfather to his loving grandchildren, Cainan, Cailyn and Messiah; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was a God-fearing man, known to many as Uncle Curtis, the Car Doctor or as a jamming base player. He had a great love for fishing and hot rods. If he wasn't found picking up his sister from work on Sundays or working on someone's car, he could be found at the fishing spot or the racetrack or spending time with those he loved, especially, his children and grandchildren whom he adored.
A celebration of life will be held 11AM Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Davis-Turner Funeral Service with the Rev. Bertha Woodson, Eulogist. Interment will be in the Baptist Cemetery. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
