Cozette Marie Davis Sandifer, daughter of the late George and Vernell Davis, died on 9/6/12 at Guggenheimer Health and Rehabilitation. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers George, Jr. and Jewel, and sister Catherine Wilson.
Cozette was also preceded in death by her husband, Fletcher Edward Sandifer and a grandchild. Surviving her are her loving daughters, Renika Sandifer and Felicia S. Anderson, both of Lynchburg, her devoted grandchildren, Chania Anderson and Carlos Anderson, Jr., her beloved son in law, Carlos Anderson, Sr., also of Lynchburg her sisters Betty Davis, of Bellevue WA, Dorothy Silver of Seattle, WA, Antoinette Acker of Tacoma, WA, her brother James Davis of Seattle, WA and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful friends.
Cozette was originally from Seattle, WA and moved to Lynchburg with her husband Fletcher to raise their family. She worked for Days Inn, then Wingate Inn until she retired in 2002. Cozette was a wonderful and loving woman who lived to be of service not only to those she loved and her community, but most importantly, to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Upon her retirement, she immediately began volunteering much of her time to The Daily Bread and to her Lord. But the joy of her life was being "Gamma". She gave of herself until her health would not allow it, and though the gift of her presence will be missed, we are also forever changed by and grateful for it all the same. She will be missed.
The family would like to extend its sincere gratitude to the following health care professionals, the staffs at UVA Hospital, Virginia Baptist Rehab, and Lynchburg General. A very special thank you goes to the staff at Guggenheimer Health and Rehabilitation for the love and excellent care they gave to our mother, and us, during her illness. In particular, to Jeanette, Tia, Sharon, Tee and Angie…thank you simply isn't enough. Most importantly, we owe a sincere debt of gratitude to Dr. Zaroh Neth for her dogged determination in overseeing our mother's care. We truly believe we had extra time with our mother on this earth in part, because of all of your care and concern. Thank you for loving her with us.
