Cora Ann Franklin, 78, of Appomattox, Virginia departed this life on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born in Appomattox County on June 17, 1944, to the late Chancy and Celia Abbitt, she accepted Christ at an early age and joined Jordan Baptist Church. She worked at CB Fleet for 41 years prior to retirement.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Hartman, and brother, Robert Abbitt.
She is survived by her devoted husband, of 53 years, Fleming Franklin of Appomattox, Virginia. She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Amanda Kidd & Ashley of Appomattox and Teresa Blackmon of Henrico; four grandchildren, RaShawn Franklin, Terrell Franklin, BreAna Miller, and Jayla Blackmon; four great-grandchildren, Zaria Franklin, Ava Franklin, Annaliese Franklin, and Karter James Franklin, to be born; three sisters, Martha Abbitt, Mary Ferguson &Sears; and Christine Abbitt; two brothers, Chancy Abbitt and James Abbitt &Lilian; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
A homegoing celebration will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, November 14, 2022, at Davis-Turner Funeral Service with Reverend Fred Ackers as the Eulogist. Interment will be in the Jordan Baptist Church Cemetery. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
