Clarence Lee Sparrow Jr. 61 of Amherst, Virginia, affectionately known to family and friends as "Joe", entered in to eternal peace, on May 26, 2014 at Fairmount Crossing Amherst, Virginia. He began his journey on November 26, 1952 in Gladstone, Virginia.
He was the son of the late Clarence Lee Sr. and Emily Ware Sparrow. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents Charlie and Mable Carpenter Ware, Ernest and Martha Morgan Sparrow; two brothers, Oneil and Phillip Sparrow and one son, Clarence L. Sparrow III.
Clarence was a beautiful and loving person. He attended Amherst County Public School. He was an employee of Griffin Pipe Co. until his decline. He became a member of the Galilee Baptist Church at an early age where he remained a member until his death.
He leaves to cherish his memories, two sons Eric (Cindy) Sparrow and Keith Sparrow, five grandchildren, Eric Sparrow, Jr., Tamaria Sparrow, Adrianna Sparrow, Brianna Sparrow and Ke'Asia Sparrow, all of Lynchburg; one brother Emmanuel Sparrow (Bea) of Amherst; two sisters, Mable Glover and Theresa Canada both of Amherst; three uncles, Leon (Cornelia) Ware of Monroe, Steve Ware, of Gladstone and Onie (Vernell) Sparrow of Madison Heights; two aunts, Terry (Larry) Jordan of Gladstone and Kathleen (Wesley) Franklin of Madison Heights; two sisters-in-laws, Janice Sparrow, of Amherst and Eva Sparrow, of Gladstone and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Galilee Baptist Church with Rev. Meredith Tinsley, Pastor, Rev. Annie Franklin, officiating and Rev. Charles Frye, as Eulogist. The interment will be in the church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, from 7-8 pm at the Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
