FORT MILL - Mr. Charlie Davis Jr., 77, of 105 Berry St. died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at Carolinas Medical Center in Pineville, N.C.
He was born May 16, 1932, in Fort Mill, S.C., to the late Charlie Davis Sr. and Ethel Green Davis. He fought in the Korean War. He was a truck driver and was a member of United AME Zion Church, where he served as trustee and Sunday School superintendent.
He is survived by wife, Pearline Nash Davis of Fort Mill; sons, Micheal K. Davis of Rock Hill; daughters, Debra Davis Williams and Crystal Davis Potts, both of Charlotte, N.C.; brother, Grady Davis of Lynchburg, Va., sisters, Beatrice Postles and Edna Wilson, both of Fort Mill; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at United AME Zion Church. The funeral will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Victor Wilson officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
Parker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
