Charles Leroy Taylor, Jr., of Lynchburg, VA was born February 11, 1948.  He slipped into eternal rest on Friday, February 9, 2018 at his residence.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Leroy Taylor, Sr. and Elaine Ware Taylor and a devoted aunt, Elsie Taylor.

Charles was a spirit filled man who loved the Lord and his family with all his heart.  He graduated from Dunbar High School in 1967.  He served in the US Army from 1967-1970.  He was employed at RR Donnelly for 32 years and retired from the ARC of Central Virginia several years later.

He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving devoted wife, Kate R. Taylor; two daughters, Yvette Ferguson (Tracy), of Richmond and Lanette Bozman (Charles), of Lynchburg, VA; five grandchildren, Chasity Rutherford (Tracy), Brittney Ferguson, Cortney Bailey (Lee), Jordan Ferguson and Charli Bozman; two great grandchildren, Zachary Ferguson and Channing Yin; two godsons, Michael Tweedy and Jonathan Rucker; two sisters, Carol Coles and Barbara Tweedy, of Lynchburg, VA; two aunts, Evelyn Turner and Jean Fletcher and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Charles' family would like to thank the staff at LGH on the Oncologist 4 ^th floor, Pearsons Cancer Center and Centra Hospice House for their incredible professionalism, comfort and endless kindnesses.

A celebration of Charles' life will be held 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Court Street Baptist with the Pastor Rodney Forrest officiating.  Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday at Davis-Turner Funeral Services. Military rites will be giving by Altavista American Legion Memorial Post 36 and Gretna American legion post 232.  Those whoso desire may make contributions to the Centra Hospice House of Lynchburg, VA.  Service of comfort rendered at Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
