Charles Edward Napier, Jr. (Chicken), 64, of Appomattox, Virginia departed this life on Monday, January 11, 2021 at his residence surrounded by family and friends.

He was the son of the late Lucille Abbitt and Charles Napier, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Louis Napier and David Napier and two sisters, Fannie Morgan and Ella Davis.

Charles was a member of Mt. Obed Baptist Church which he joined at an early age. He was employed by Archer Creek for 35 years.

Charles leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, of 26 years, Rosa M. Napier; three sons, Charles Napier III (Shantae), Michael Napier (Dashay) all of Appomattox, VA, Isaiah Jackson of Lynchburg, VA; two daughters, Tracy Napier and Sherika Megginson (Courduro) of Appomattox, VA; one step-son Maurice Megginson (Courtney) of Appomattox; 17 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 great God-grandchild.

He also leaves behind three brothers, James and Clarence Napier of Lynchburg, VA and Paul Napier (Nancy) of Appomattox, VA; two sisters, Carrie Mae Johnson (Carl) of Lynchburg, VA and Stella Davies (Johnny) of Appomattox, VA; two brothers-in-laws, Saint Moss, Sr. (Linda) and Joseph Moss both of Appomattox, VA; two sisters-in-laws, Rebecca Chambers (Charles) and Edna Dews (Al) both of Appomattox, VA.

Charles also leaves some devoted friends, Chuck, Darlene Franklin, Glen, Louise Jackson, Cleveland Fleshman (Perch), Timothy Turner (Tiny), Lil Chuck, Nay Franklin, Jr., James Pennix, Walter, Glo Robinson, a long time devoted family friend, Regina Pennix; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Davis-Turner Funeral Service with Minister Malik Fleshamn, officiating and Rev. Ronnie Mosley, Eulogist.
