Catherine V. Turner (Kitty), affectionately known as "Nana", departed this life on January 09, 2023, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was born on June 06, 1940, to the late Samuel Gray, Sr., and Teola Vest Turner.

She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mount Eagle Baptist Church in Faber, Virginia. Catherine was a seamstress that enjoyed quilting and had a love for animals and gardening. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her grandparents, Oscar and Beatrice Vest; her stepmother, Christine Gray; her husband, Walter Massie Turner, Sr.; and brothers, Billy Gray and Charles Haliburton.

Those left to cherish her memories are sons, Walter Massie Turner, Jr. of Forest, Virginia, Ford Lee Vest, Oscar David Turner (Debra), and Thomas Turner; and daughter, Barbara T. Horsley (Darnell) all of Madison Heights, Virginia. Her siblings, Samuel Gray, Jr., James Gray (Roberta), and John Gray (Diane) all of Faber, Virginia; four sisters, Paulette Lewis of Charlottesville, Virginia, Alberta Loving, Ellen Stewart (Danny) both of Faber, Virginia and Dorothy Loving (Lewis) of Shipman, Virginia; and a special sister-in-law, Mazzie Jackson. She also leaves 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and relatives.

A homegoing celebration will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Davis-Turner Funeral Service. The family will have a visitation from 6:00-7:00 PM Friday, January 13, 2023, at Davis-Turner Funeral Service. Interment will be in the Scott Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
