Carrie W. Rucker, of 108 Kingcade Dr., passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was born December 11, 1920 to the late William and Carrie Blair Warrick in Amherst County. Carrie was preceded in death by her husband, William Rucker; one son, Wayne Rucker and one sister, Annie Mae Jordan. Those left to cherish her memories are three sons, Carson Warrick, of Amherst, David F. Warrick, of Roanoke and Malcolm Rucker, of Amherst; two daughters, Janice Sparrow and Shirley Sparrow, both of Amherst; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, March 10, 2007 at Union Hill Baptist Church, Amherst with Rev. Jessie Johnson, officiating and Rev. M.D. Mays as eulogist. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence. Mrs. Rucker will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral service.
