Carolyn P. Gunter Carolyn P. Gunter of Forest, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2013, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was born on April 24, 1957, to Jessie Edward Phelps Sr. and Marion B. Phelps. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Jessie E. Phelps Jr., Theodore R. Phelps and George Phelps. Those left to cherish her memories including her parents, are her husband, John R. Gunter of Rustburg; one sister, Madeline P. (Kenneth) Green of Madison Heights; two brothers, James E. (Deborah) Phelps and Donald S. (Adelle) Phelps, both of Lynchburg; god brother, James (Vanessa) Calloway of Madison Heights; cousin, Frank Darby of Forest; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relative and friends. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at St. Paul Baptist Church, Forest, with the Rev. Edward Jones, officiating and Elder Gary Davis, as Eulogist. Interment will be in the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
