Carolyn Diane Davis departed this life on April 05, 2021 at her residence. Born on July 30, 1943 she was the middle child of the late Robert E. and Sallie P. Davis. She was also preceded in death by her aunt, Helen M. Harvey; a niece, Tamara R. Hamlett; and a devoted friend, Sadie Houston.

Carolyn attended public schools in Amherst County and graduated from Central High School. She would later attend St. Paul's College in Lawrenceville, VA and then Lynchburg College. She worked in the mental health field for many years in Northern Virginia before her retirement. She was an active participant in sports during school and earned the name "Leftie" because of her mean left hook in basketball. She loved fishing, gardening, going to the beach, helping others, entertaining her friends, and spending time with her favorite niece, Breyah.

Those left to cherish her memories are her sisters, Barbara "Snookie" Hamlett, Myra D. Smith (Horace), and Sherrill C. Davis; nieces, Michelle "Betty" McKinley (John), Adrienne Grant (David), Cherie Gibson (Russell), Stacy Smith, Brittanie S. Hamlett, Sarah Gibson, and her favorite niece, Breyah Wise; nephews, Christopher Smith, Brendon Hamlett, Uri Fisher, and Zacir Smith; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

She will be greatly missed by all especially her nieces and nephews. Her unwavering support is something they will always cherish.

A celebration of Carolyn's life will be held 11AM Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Davis-Turner Funeral Service with Rev. John McKinley, Officiant and Rev. Buddy Braxton, Eulogist. COVID precautions will be in place. Please wear a mask. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
