Carol Penn Sorrells, 74, of Madison Heights passed away Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Lynchburg General Hospital.  She was born February 21, 1945 to the late George Dennis Penn, Sr. and Adelia Ferguson Penn.  She was preceded in death by one son, Matthew E. Sorrells and one brother, George D. Penn, Jr.

Those left to cherish her memories are two daughters, Phyllis S. Thompson, of Madison Heights and Suzette Peerman (George), of Forest, VA; one son, Dominic D. Sorrells;  four brothers,  George Napier (Susie), of Lynchburg, Kenneth Penn, Sr. (Debra), of Lynchburg, Wayne Penn (Janice), of Rustburg and Samuel Penn, Sr. (Shelby), of Madison Heights; three sisters, Laverne Haskins (Ronald), of AL, Patricia Watts, of Madison Heights and Consuelo Tabb, of Madison Heights; one uncle, Eagar "Elmer" Penn (Mary), of Madison Heights; one aunt, Maxine Parker, of MD; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Monday, March 25, 2019 at Scott Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Lee, officiating.  The interment will be in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Sunday at Davis-Turner Funeral Service from 6-7:00 PM.  Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
