Carol Etta Jones, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2025.

Born on June 5, 1950, in Campbell County, to Virginia Canada and the late Lacy Nowlin, Sr.

Carol was employed by the Lane Company for years, followed by the Lynchburg Health and Rehabilitation Center where she found a passion for taking care of others. She will be remembered for her love of cooking and gardening in the yard.

She was preceded in death by two loving sons, Samuel, Jr. and Larry Jones; and one sister, Jeanette Nowlin.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Samuel Jones, Sr.; son, Bobby Jones (Heather); six grandchildren, Erica Jones, Kelsey Roark, Jordan Jones, Antonio Jones, Natasha Jones, and Sam Jones; five sisters, Jo Dobbs (Robert), Lillian Womack (David), Mamie Nowlin, Rosa Allen (Tom), and Catrina Tucker; seven brothers, Lacy Nowlin, Jr. (Marie), Larry Allen (Sandra), Lawrence Allen (Kaye), Mike Nowlin (Linda), Larry Nowlin, Barry Nowlin (Connie), and James Allen (Mary); three sisters-in-law, Gracie Jones, Carolyn Banks, and Phyllis Jones; and four brothers-in-law, Charles Jones (Patricia), Albert Jones, Donnie Jones, and Arthur Jones (Helen); and many other family and friends.

We thank Good Samaritan Hospice for the compassionate care provided during her final days.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at New Free Springs Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Davis-Turner Funeral Service. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
