On Saturday, June 12, 2021, Carl Leon Johnson, gratefully gained his wings at his home, surrounded by his loved ones.

Carl was born to the late Jeanette (Patrick) Johnson and Raymond Davidson. In addition, Carl was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Johnson, Sr.; grandson, Ricky Johnson, Jr.; brothers, James, Roger, Phillip, and Howard Johnson; sisters, Barbara Abbitt and Jeanette Johnson.

Carl was a loving husband, for 59 lovely years, to Carrie Mae Johnson. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Roger (Cassandra) Johnson and Carl (Lisa) Johnson; two daughters, Sharon and Alisa Johnson; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters, Odessa Johnson, Evangeline Diggs (Baltimore, MD), Doris Harris (New York, NY) and Esther Rose Davidson (New York, NY); two brothers, Herman and Marvin Johnson; a host of loving sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and loyal friends.

The family would like to thank Centra Health Hospice Nurses' Team; a devoted caregiver, Kendrick Johnson (Grandson); a devoted nephew, David Johnson; and devoted niece, Amanda (Edward) Hendricks. May God Bless you all.

A celebration of Carl's life will be held 1PM Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Davis-Turner Funeral Service with the Rev. Raymond Ackers, Officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Obed Baptist Church Cemetery. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
