Calvin Lincoln Whirley, Jr., 53 years old, 2250 Sackett Street, Lynchburg passed away Saturday, October 11, 2014 at his residence. He was born March 22, 1961 to Calvin L. Whirley, Sr. and Ann Jackson. Those left to morn his passing are his wife, Kathy Thompson Whirley; his parents, Calvin L. and Marlyn Whirley, Sr. of Elmira, NY and Ann and Douglas A. Carrington, of Forest, VA.
Calvin graduated from Jefferson Forest High School. He served in the United States Army completing a tour of duty in Neuenburg, Germany. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Forest. Calvin was employed by Dinner Bell for nineteen years and for one year at Kroger.
He leaves to cherish his memories two sons, Christopher and Christy Carter, of Lynchburg, Clay and Yolanda Carter, both of Colorado Springs, CO; a devoted sister, Janice Whirley Monroe and brother-in-law, William "Roger" Monroe, of Forest; a sister, Kimberly Rasheez, of Manhattan, NY and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Friday, October 17, 2014 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Goode with Rev. Aaron Payne, officiating. The interment will be in the church cemetery.
