Calvin Sylvester Brown, Sr. of Lynchburg, Virginia departed this life on Tuesday, October 05, 2021. He was born June 15, 1957 to the late Harry Brown and Barbara Fitch. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Harold Brown; his maternal grandparents, Abraham and Helen Richardson; and his paternal grandparents, Joshua and Annie Brown.

Calvin gave his life to the Lord at an early age and joined the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Later he attended church with his wife at Wingfield Baptist Church. He retired from Griffin Pipe after being a devoted employee for 32 years.

He leaves to cherish his memories his beloved wife, Shirley Smith Brown; a devoted son, Calvin S. Brown, Jr. (Emily) of Durham, NC; a loving granddaughter, Ann Marie Rose Brown of Durham, NC; two aunts, Maude Davis of Lynchburg, VA and Mildred Brown of Richmond, VA; two brothers-in-law, Leroy Smith (Kaye) of Atlanta, GA and Lynn Smith (Cindy) of Madison Heights, VA; a sister-in-law, Mary Walker of Charlotte, NC; special friends, Larry and Faye Smith of Danville, VA; and a host of relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held 12PM Friday, October 08, 2021 at Davis-Turner Funeral Service with Pastor Adolph Brown, Eulogist. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
