Bishop Samuel Fred Adams, 91, of Lynchburg passed away Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Lynchburg General Hospital. Bishop Adams was born on March 18, 1922 to the late Nathaniel and Mattie Logan Adams.
He was preceded in death by two children, Sandra and Bruce Adams.
He was pastor and overseer of Mt. Zion Temple of Prayer.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Doris W. Adams; sons, Fred Adams, Adolphus Adams, Anthony Adams, Randolph Adams, Minister Timothy Adams and Minister David Adams; three daughters, Rose Mary Pinkett, Angel Peters and Josette Laney and a host of other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held 12:00 Noon Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the Scott Zion Baptist Church, with Rev. Edward Jones, Sr. officiating and Bishop Conner, as eulogist.
