Mrs. Betty N. Williams West of Amherst passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at her residence. She was born in Tallahassee, FL on September 24, 1947 to the late Isiah Williams and Annie Gilliam Williams.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Odester L. West; daughter, Caryn West and brother, Rev. Ben L. Williams.
She was converted and baptize at Elizabeth Popular Spring P.B. Church, August 2, 1966.
Those left to forever cherish her memories are, Cory F. West (Heidi), of Amherst and daughter, Courtney West (Eric), of Richmond; five grandchildren, Malachi, Caryn, Tristan, Alia and Kasra; step-son, Odea West (Karen); step daughters, Louise Marshall and children, Marsha Nikooforgat (Reza); one sister, Annie M. Barber (Junius); one brother, Ferris Williams (Annie); sisters-in-law, Doris Williams, of Delray, Beach, FL, Evelyn Hutcherson, Shirley Christian and Geneva Moore, all of Madison Heights; brother-in-law, Lawrence West (Alice), of Madison Heights; other survivors, nephews, nieces and were cousins that raised together, Georgia H. Frazier (Lucious), Sidney Gilliam (Susie), Kenneth Gilliam and Jacqueline Lurry and a host of other cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, October 31, 2016 at Davis-Turner Funeral Service with Rev. Charles Frye, officiating. The interment will be in the Briarwood Memorial Gardens, Amherst.
