Betty Gwendolyn Myers-McDaniel, 50, entered eternal rest to be with the Lord on the evening of Wednesday November 23, 2011 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of David Eugene McDaniel of Amherst.
Born May 03, 1961, in Charlottesville, VA and she was the oldest of three children, born to the late Thurman "Harry" Myers and she is survived by her mother, Betty J. Myers.
She is also preceded in death by both maternal and paternal grandparents and a special aunt, Mildred Smith and a special uncle, Bobby D. Toliver "Mutt".
Our beloved "Gwen" was a member of St. Mary's Baptist Church located in Lowesville, VA. She graduated high school at the top of her class and furthered her education to receive an associates degree and worked as a legal secretary at the department of Social Services located in Lynchburg, VA. After a series of Strokes she fought a long yet hard battle for years, after all her pain and suffering the good Lord decided to call her home.
She is survived by two children, Ebonee Sherrell Myers-Ward (Shawn) and Jarvis Terrell Myers both of Amherst; two brothers, Thurman "Jimmy" Myers, Jr. (Cheryl) of Richmond, VA and Merchant M. Myers (Melissa "Missy") of Lynchburg, VA; one niece, Casey D. Myers, of Lynchburg; two devoted friends, Dean D. Brown of Amherst and Pushall E. Colbert of Lynchburg and host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. Special Thanks to her CNA'S, Natela Johnson and Amanda Reverly and also Lynchburg General Hosptial Pulmonary Unit and staff.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011 at St. Mary Baptist Church, Lowesville with Rev. Troy Anderson, Pastor, officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence 265 N Coolwell Rd. Apt 103. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
