Betty Jean Martin Slaughter departed this life on March 22, 2013 at home with her loved ones by her side. She was the wife of the late, Carrington Slaughter.
She was the daughter of the late Bluthoyd Martin, Sr. and the late Nancy Martin.
She is also preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Cora Mays and Carrington Slaughter, three brothers-in-law, Raymond Thurman, Jerry Slaughter and Kenneth Johnson.
She is survived by her loving children, Wendy (Richard), Tasha (Aaron) and Carl (Kim); her loving grandchildren, DeMonte, Clarence, India, Rosshawn, Porsha, Ry-Kiel, CeMonya, Trey Shawn, Abijah, Breanna, Destiny, Xavier and Tamicia; her stepdaughters, Kathy and Teresa; brothers, Blythoyd Martin, Jr. and Bernie Martin; sister, Glenda Sue Martin; two devoted cousins, Donna Thompson (Shawn) and Tina Thompson; five brothers-in-law, Clarence McCray (Lynda), Deacon Bobby Slaughter (Frances), George Slaughter all of Lynchburg, Apostle David Slaughter (Evangelist Barbara) of Madison Heights, Charles Slaughter (Mary) of Hopewell; other babies, Stephanie McKenna, Shawn Spinner, Santrice Thomas, Jamel and Tiffany Abrams; her buddies, Shirley Patillo, Carol Jackson and Linda Cox and numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
