Obituary
Bessie Berry Campbell, of Amherst, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016, at her residence. She was born to the late Talmadge Berry and Julia Berry on April 3, 1939.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmore Campbell, Sr.; two brothers, James Berry, Sr., and Talmadge Berry; one sister, Martha Hunt; daughter-in-law, Michelle Campbell; and grandson, Quinton Lewis.
She was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church and worked at Central Virginia Training School.
Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Elmore Campbell, Jr., and Ashley Campbell, both of Amherst, Sheila (Shawn) Dodson, of Roanoke, Talmadge (Angela) Campbell, and Pamila (Terry) Tabb, both of Richmond; one brother, Thomas (Elizabeth) Berry, of Maryland; two sisters, Doris Anderson, of Maryland, and Janet Douglas, of Concord; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Morning Star Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronnie Haynes, officiating. The interment will be held at the Christian Aid Cemetery. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
