Bernice "Bonnie" Pilgrim, 56, of Lynchburg passed away Monday, July 9, 2007 at her residence. Bonnie as she was often called, was born on July 16, 1951 to the late Horace Clayton and Magdalean Wood Pilgrim in Simpsonville, SC. She joined the Mt. Peeler Baptist Church at an early age and was a member of the Gospel Chorus. Bonnie was a 1969 graduated of Brookville High School and a 1974 graduated of Norfolk State University. Her employment included the US Postal Service, Ericsson, Central Virginia Training Center and Creative Family Solutions where she was dutiful and faithful companion to the clients. Bonnie is survived by two daughters, Twana (Elder Benjamin) Samuels of Elgin, Ill and Indra Williams of Lynchburg; one sister, Ann Dunn of Jamaica, NY; three brothers, Harold (Denise) of Charlottesville, Rev. Billy (Karen) Pilgrim of Chambersburg, PA and Rev. Allan (Catherine) Loving of Madison Heights; one uncle, Welford Wood, Sr.; three aunts, Marie Wood, Rosa Wood and Vergie Wood and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. A funeral service will held 2:00 PM Saturday, July 14, 2007 at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Ferguson officiating and Rev. Billy Pilgrim as eulogist. Interment will be in Archer Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 7-8 PM at Davis-Turner Funeral Service and other times at the residence of Rev. Allan Loving.
