Barney Howard Cabler, of Clinton, MD passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at the VA Hospital, Washington, DC.
Born in Campbell County on March 13, 1957, he was a son of Mrs. Julia Walthall Cabler and the late Matthew Cabler. As a young child, he was baptized at the Crossroads Baptist Church. He pursued his education in the Campbell County schools and Virginia State College in Petersburg, Virginia. Following his time in school, he elected to serve his country in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by a brother Ronald Cabler.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Julia Cabler; one daughter, Cherrie Preston and one grandson, Miguel Betances; three sisters, Delphine Y. Mickles, of Rustburg, Sandra Charlene Hairston (Spencer), of Lynchburg and Jacqueline Cabler, of Clinton, MD who was his loving and devoted caregiver; one brother, Marvin L. Cabler, of South Boston, VA; aunts, Rosa Cabler, Lillian White, Marie Farmer, Verneice Cabler and Addie Millet; uncles, James Cabler and Alonzo Walthall (Mable) and a host of other relatives and friends.
