We are blessed to know that Arnold, Sr. is in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Arnold was reared by his grandmother, the late Alice Fleshman Angel, along with an adopted uncle, Herbert Evan Fleshman, and cousin, Laura Elizabeth Fleshman. Granma Alice cared for them into their young adult lives.

During his formative years, he confessed Christ and was baptized at Mt. Shiloh Baptist Church, Spout Spring (Appomattox County) Virginia.

In high school, he took an active part in the New Farmers of America (NFA) organization, the 4-H Club, and was a key player on the softball team.

In later years, Arnold joined the US Navy and was honorably discharged from the Navy reserves after 23 years of service. Arnold retired from General Electric after 32 years. He owned and operated a taxi at Allied Cab for 55 years.

In 1962, he married the love of his life, Anna Woodson and to this union, they were blessed with two loving and caring sons, Arnold Jr. and Ronald Arnold, Sr., and his wife Anna shared love, laughter, and joy for over 60 years.

Mr. Fleshman was an active member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Lynchburg, VA where he served many years of dedicated service as church Trustee. In his earlier years, he was also a member of Mt. Shiloh in Spout Springs, VA.
