Annie G. Williams, born March 11th 1921 entered into eternal rest on May 27, 2010 at the age of 89. She was one of 10 children born to Thomas and Annie Grade. At an early age she became a member of Morning Star Baptist Church in Burksville, VA. A dedicated employee of Lynchburg General Hospital where she retired after 15 years of service. She was married to the late Alfred L. Williams.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Rosa Epps and Sophronia Sydnor of Burksville, VA; five brothers, James, Walter, John, Thomas of Baltimore, MD and Johnnie of Blacksburg, VA; two sons-in-law, Pervis O. Thomas, Sr. and Christopher L. Walker.
She leaves to cherish her memory eight daughters, Milford Thomas, Elizabeth Mosley, Easter West (Scoliver), Glinda Williams, Sheryl Williams, Marie Davis (Tyree), Ruby Walker all of Lynchburg and Mary Sparrow (Alphonso) of South Carolina; one son, Isaac L. Williams (Sarah) of Lynchburg; twenty one grandchildren; twenty six great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; two sisters, Ada Alford of Baltimore, MD and Bertha Carter of Richmond and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
All her daughters were committed to caring for her during her time of illness, especially her daughter Ruby and granddaughter Melissa. A special appreciation is extended to Nancy Shotwell and Sandy Carr with Hospice. Also Nurse Sarah Ray and Paula with Home Health for their loving care.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 Pm Sunday, May 30, 2010 at Davis-Turner Funeral Service with Rev. Ronald Lovelace officiating and Rev. Bertram L. Davis, Sr. as eulogist.
