Alice Lewis Taylor of 273 Warrick Barn Rd.Arrington, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010 at Lynchburg General Hospital. Alice was born to the late Macie Braxton on April 24, 1925, in Amherst County and the wife of the late Charles Wiley Taylor. Alice was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lucinda Taylor; three sisters, Mary Coles, Julie Braxton and Roxie Braxton; three brothers, James Braxton, Forest Braxton and Walter Braxton; two brothers-in-law, George Taylor and Payton Taylor; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Coles and Lynn Ross.
She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of the New Jerusalem Baptist Church. Alice enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Alice leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Mary Sandidge ( Rev. J.L. Sandidge) and Delores Taylor; four grandchildren, Lisa Sandidge, Calvin Sandidge (Cin), Edward Sandidge (Louise) all of Lynchburg, and Brenda Sandidge, of Lynchburg; three great-grandchildren, Chelsey Scott, Ashley Sandidge and Edmund Sandidge; one great great grandchild, Don`vielle Sandidge; one brother-in-law, Percy Taylor (Kathleen); two sisters-in-law, Mildred Carter and Christine Smith; special and devoted friends, Linda Richerson (Linwood), Mildred Carter and Shaquita Campbell and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, January 30, 2010 at New Jerusalem Baptist Church Rev. Rodney Harris, officiating and Rev. J.L. Sandidge as Eulogist.
