Alberta R. Waugh took her Savior by the hand and entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 22, 2022. She was born in Amherst County, Virginia on September 04, 1952.

She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age and became a member of Timothy Baptist Church. She was a member of the Senior Choir. Alberta, retired from Centra Health, Lynchburg Hospital after twenty years of service.

Alberta's life was always an ongoing Celebration of Love and Sharing with family, church and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mamie Rucker; one brother, James Rucker and one sister, Mamie "Betty" McDaniel.

She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-four years of marriage, the Love of her Life, William Waugh II; three sons, William Waugh, III (Crystal), Lewis Waugh (Sandy), Leon Waugh (Evangeline) all of Madison Heights, VA; one stepson, Cory Roberson (Donna); one stepdaughter, Erica Roberson of Lynchburg, VA; two special sons, Jason Burford of Madison Heights, VA and Mike Beverley of Lynchburg, VA; one sister, Bernice Rucker (David) of Lynchburg, VA; three brothers, Otha Rucker of Amherst, VA, Steven Rucker and Donell Rucker (Shirley) both of Lynchburg, VA; one aunt, Cordine Rose of Madison Heights, VA; two brothers-in-law, Charles Rucker (Bettie) of Lynchburg, VA and Thomas McDaniel of Evington, VA; three sisters-in-law, Molly Lewis (Charles) of Madison Heights, VA, Margaret Randolph and Margie Rucker both of Lynchburg, VA; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a special and Devoted friend of twenty years, Lee Hale. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

A homegoing celebration will be held 2:00 PM Monday, January 31, 2022, at Timothy Baptist Church with the Rev. Dorothy Napier, Eulogist. Interment will be in the Timothy Baptist Church Cemetery.
