Clara Linthicum Merchant departed this life, Saturday March 14, 2012. Clara worked at Leggett Department store as a seamstress for many years. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Clara Linthicum. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her late husband Charles Henry Merchant. Five brothers Howard, Robert, Harry, Ivanhoe and Carl Linthicum. Three sisters Bertha, Pearl Mackall and Dorothy Southerland. She was also preceded in death by her son Charles L (Pete) Merchant. Clara leaves to cherish her memory one sister, Shirley Tweedy; one daughter, Joyce (William) Gray; one son, Thomas (Tina) Linthicum; one granddaughter, LaTana Tanner; one grandson, Peter (Shelly) Merchant; four great grandsons, DaVonte Gray, Jamel, Ray and Jalen; two great granddaughters, LaSasha Gray and Diamond Tanner; one great-great grandson, Zayvion Moore; she also leaves to cherish her memory four sisters-in-law, Mary Merchant, Earnestine Linthicum, Glenda Linthicum and Dorothy Merchant; a devoted niece, Markita Nowlin; a devoted friend, Carlos Bullard and a host of niece’s nephews and friends.
